Northern NSW is one of the most productive grain-growing regions in the world — averaging 4.8 million tonnes per year. NAT was conceived to give that region a modern, independent export route through the Port of Newcastle. The terminal needed a single operational system covering receival, quality assessment, sample chain of custody, silo storage, road and rail movements, and ship loading.
LittleMan delivered that system. The same platform served the operator on the wharf, the lab technician at the bench, and the GM watching the daily P&L. From inception in 2014 through to the Qube acquisition in 2021, NAT operated on LittleMan-built software — moving grain from truck to vessel at up to 2,000 tonnes per hour, across 60,000 tonnes of silo storage and modern rail receival infrastructure.
